Abstract
In June 2013, we started a joint research project MICROPHOTON, “Measurement and Control of Single-Photon Microwave Radiation on a Chip”, as a part of the European Metrology Research Programme (EMRP). The objectives of the project include the development of novel microwave detectors and sources that would ultimately operate at the single-photon level, and the improvement in the performance of cryoelectronic quantum devices by understanding and eliminating the detrimental effects caused by microwave radiation coming from the electromagnetic environment. This paper describes the goals and plans of the project.
