Abstract :
After a technical overview of the IEEE 1451 family of standards, detailed descriptions of implemented smart transducers interface modules (STIM) and transducer interface modules (TIM) either using 10-wire transducer independent interface (TII) or USB are presented. These experimental research results aim to be a small contribution for the IEEE STD. 1451.2-1997 revision and update.
