Abstract :
This paper presents a multiobjective optimization of the design of a 10 kW /130 rpm axial flux permanent magnet synchronous generator (AFPMSG) dedicated to wind energy application. Firstly, a coupled electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical models used in the design procedure of the AFPMSG are presented. Secondly, the developed genetic algorithm (GA) approach is presented in three parts: the basic principles of the GAs, the constrained to the unconstrained optimization conversion and the multiobjective optimization method. Thirdly, an analysis of the multiobjective optimization method robustness is performed and applied in the case of 10 kW/130 rpm AFPMSG. According to the obtained results, the presented GA approach is a fast and an efficient technique to solve the resolution of the design multiobjective optimization problems
