Abstract :
Automated cheque processing is a system for recognition of important information contained in a bank cheque. Such a system requires skew detection at its first step. Accuracy of cheque processing is affected by the precision of detecting the skew of the scanned version of the cheque. This paper proposes a robust algorithm against noise for skew detection of cheque images. This scheme is based on the projection profile and physical structure of the cheque and, detects the skew quickly and precisely.
