  • Abstract
A series of Raman lasers based on BaWO4 and Ba(NO3)2 crystals were developed and optimized. Efficient Stokes shifted oscillations in mid IR spectral range as far as 2.2 μm were obtained with efficiency up to 10%. New methods of active Cr2+ doped crystals synthesis were developed. Efficient oscillations at 1.5 μm and 1.8 μm which are within absorption line of Cr2+ ions were used to pump ZnSe:Cr2+ (1.53 μm and 1.78 μm) and CdSe:Cr2+ (1.78 μm) lasers. Oscillations in mid IR spectral range (2.5-2.7 μm) were obtained with oscillation threshold of several hundred micro Joules and slope efficiency up to 23%.
