Abstract :
The femtocell network is a highly promising solution to increase the capacity of the system by getting the transmitter and receiver closer to each other, which provides higher-quality links. The spectrum allocated to femtocell networks mainly comes from the same licensed spectrum bands allocated to macrocells. In this paper, we study the minimum power allocation in downlink communication of open subscriber group (OSG) femtocell networks over fading environments. The constraints on the power at the downlink will belong to one of the following two types: the first one is the ergodic capacity constraint and the other one is the average bit error rate (BER) constraint in different digital modulation schemes. We also discuss the impact of signaling between macrocell base station and femto access point on the power allocation. Finally, our numerical results provide guidelines for the design of future femtocell networks.
