Abstract :
Patient monitoring using low cost radio devices is important from a management viewpoint, particularly if it can be extended from hospitals to non-expert use in the home environment. The author reviews strategies in simplex signalling, considers the impact of recent RF component developments and examines the requirements of half and full-duplex telemetric systems
