Abstract :
The problem of estimating time-delay for acoustic systems where the measurements are contaminated with additive noise is investigated. A new approach based on kepstrum analysis is used to provide innovations based whitening filters for the measurements and this leads to a new approach for the smooth coherence transform (SCOT). The method has application in areas of signal processing and robotic acoustic range-finding.
