Abstract
Electroplated coatings represent a major portion of the electrical contact finishes used worldwide. This is particularly true as contact sizes and energy levels decrease. As a result, ever-thinner coatings are used for reasons of economy. At the same time, it is in these applications that the state of the contact surface plays an increasingly important role in reliability.
