Abstract
An algorithm for analysis of circular waveguide arrays with protruding dielectric rods of cylindrical-conical shape is developed. The transverse electromagnetic field in the region comprising the rods is expanded over transverse vector functions of the Floquet channel with variable coefficients for which a system of ordinary differential equation is derived as a result of projecting Maxwell equations on the same vector functions. The differential equations are transformed into algebraic ones by applying the one-dimensional finite element method. Some results characterizing both the algorithm and the array properties are presented and discussed.
