Abstract
The research question of this cross-analysis of two cases is how the Integration Readiness Level (IRL) metrics can be understood and realized in information systems projects. The target of this study is to learn how the existing IRL metrics and their definition, criteria, references, and questionnaires can be realized and validated in information systems integration projects. The study addresses the integration of externally funded research and development (R&D) functions and the development of R&D-related collaborative learning in higher education institutions.
