Abstract :
The present research treats various kinds of uncertainties which influence the activity duration for each separate erection process in terms of fuzzy sets. Then, the necessary number of days for the completion of the erection can be obtained as fuzzy quantities by using fuzzy reasoning. On the basis of the fuzzy performance evaluation and review technique (PERT) network thus obtained, linear programming is used to calculate the overall project duration and its certainty. As a simple numerical example, the erection of a simple girder bridge is considered
