  • Abstract
    In this paper, a robust time delay of arrival (TDOA) estimation for sound source location based on a cross correlation or generalized cross correlation function (GCCF) in correlated noise environments is proposed. The coherence-based weighting function of GCCF can be improved by cross power spectral subtraction when the cross power spectral density of the input correlated noise is available. Then, this weighting function is utilized to estimate the positions of the maximum peaks in the GCCF. We compare our new algorithm with the traditional ones, and the experiment results show superior performance in a real conference room.
