  • Abstract
Situation-awareness has emerging as a promising way to build intelligent and dynamic systems in nowadays dynamic computing environments. Several approaches based on the concept of situation were introduced as application developing methodologies, but there are only weak notions to define situation and, hence, advantages coming from situation-driven approaches are not fledged through computing engineering areas. In this paper, we define situation formally and describe a situation-driven development methodology for building dynamic agent systems. Furthermore, to handle exceptions, raised when an agent cannot find flexible ways coping with dynamic changes of environment, we propose an exception handling solution by devising a congested situation.
