Abstract :
The accurate knowledge of machine parameters is quite important for the determination of the control parameters of a high-performance closed loop controllers. This paper presents a simple and accurate method for estimating the direct and quadrature axis inductances of a synchronous machine. The proposed identification method is based on closed loop current controller of the direct and quadrature stator current components. The synchronous machine inductances are estimated from the sampled current responses to step changes, with a locked rotor, of the direct and quadrature stator current references. Experimental results carried on a FPGA based prototyping platform are presented in order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the presented method
