  • Abstract
A mathematical model of the respiratory system for newborn infants has been used to study the ventilatory response in hypoxia. Periodic breathing, and the ventilatory pattern following a sigh in the newborn period. The respiratory responses have been analyzed under different conditions and the effects of different respiratory parameters on the system´s behavior have been investigated
