Abstract :
Analysis model for routing protocols for wireless ad hoc networks is significant helpful, since it can be employed to investigate to highlight the most considerable ingredient, enlighten the heuristic approach, provide landmark for performance evaluations, and so forth. A fundamental issue in multicast over an ad hoc network is that what is the optimal multicast throughput in such an environment and how to achieve it. In this paper, we concentrate on computing optimal throughput for multicast under the constraints imposed by wireless interference. We start with a mixed integer program to model the single source multicast under the single tree overlay structure over such a network and then generalize it for the more general cases. We proposed the unique upstream node constraint, the single root constraint, and the forwarding constraint as well as extended clique constraint and independent superset constraint imposed by wireless interference to accommodate the natural of multicast and the fact that broadcast usually be employed to perform packet transmission in most of multicast protocols. We also demonstrate that the optimal throughput can be derived by such a model within reasonable computation time.
