Abstract :
With the development of Terrestrial 3D Laser-scanning technology, as the one of main methods of earth observing architecture, Terrestrial 3D Laser-scanning technology is increasingly widely applied in the field of ancient architecture protection. Triangulating a set of scattered 3D points is a common approach but a difficult problem to surface reconstruction from unorganized point clouds. Large wood structures are common structure in ancient architecture. Because the amount of point cloud data of it is very large, universal triangulation algorithms don´t adapt for. On the basis of full analysis of the characteristics of the ancient buildings´ large wood structure, the algorithm was proposed in this article, which integrated with the cylindrical projection and tangent plane projection triangulation. Experiments show that the method is more efficient and effective support for the regular shape large wood structures.
