Abstract :
Simulation of the dynamics of the drive lines of traction drives is an important aid for the development of light-rail vehicles. Flexibility of modelling is necessary to be able to simulate a variety of types of drive lines which are used in light-rail vehicles. Models of vehicle drives are developed including the electrical drive, the mechanical drive line and the wheel-rail contact. Simulation in the time domain and frequency domain enables the evaluation of drive line concepts. Validation of simulations was done by measurements which were performed on vehicle on track
