Abstract
In this paper, we use survey data of 134 county level rural credit cooperatives in Shandong province, and examine the board and directors characteristics how to affect performance in the rural credit cooperatives. We study the characteristics of board and its members through statistical analysis, and we also find that they have a significant impact on rural credit cooperatives performance by further measure analysis. We find that the qualifications of directors, board size, and number of meetings have positive impact on performance.
