Abstract :
This paper deals with scheduling of thermal generating units in wind integrated power system to meet the requirements of minimum emission. An emission due to thermal plants is considered as constraint while minimizing the overall cost of operation. The stochastic nature of wind power is characterized by weibull probability distribution function. The terms like overestimation and underestimation of available wind power are considered in present study to account for power imbalance due to wind power uncertainty. Plant growth simulated algorithm PGSA is used to solve cost function and is implemented as computer program. Two test systems are studied to demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed algorithm.
