Abstract :
Because of increasing wind power generation in distributed generation power system, power quality has become a major concern. This paper proposes a new way for reduction of battery size and charge-discharge for smoothing power fluctuation of DFIG. Battery energy storage system (BESS) was used because of fast dynamic response and feasible work. As it cost much, this paper focuses on reducing of energy storage system to decrease total cost for smoothing power fluctuation and reduction of charge-discharge to increase battery life. This new control way includes battery energy storage and capacitor. Matlab was used to verify the performance of the method under different wind and sun profile. Results show benefits of proposed control model.
