Abstract :
Due to increasing penetration of the wind and photovoltaic power in power system, the quality of the power has become a major concern. This paper proposes a new way for smoothing power fluctuation of hybrid wind-PV generation. Hence battery energy storage system (BESS) has fast dynamic response and it´s feasible to work, is used in this paper. As it cost much, this paper focuses on reducing of energy storage system to decrease total cost for smoothing power fluctuation. This new control way includes battery energy storage and capacitor. Matlab was aided to verify the performance of the method under different wind and sun profile. Results show benefits of proposed control model.
