Abstract
For a future seeker application, the transmitter requires a high peak power amplifier with reduced size and weight and moderate bandwidth . In order to get both the bandwidth and the size, the selected solution was an extended interaction klystron (EIK). The paper presents the design of the EIK: coupled cavities for gain and output cavity, gridded gun, PPM focusing, depressed collector for the overall efficiency, and the results of measurement for narrow and wide band klystrons
