Abstract :
This paper addresses the impact of dynamic spatiotemporal variance of heterogeneous spectrum on the performance of the Cognitive Radio Ad Hoc Networks (CRAHNs). A dynamic heterogeneous spectrums Multiple Channels Reuse Areas (MCRA) model is set up for a Cognitive Radio (CR) node to characterize the interference from the other nodes, the variation of the traffic of Primary Users (PUs) and Secondary Users (SUs), as well as the variance of heterogeneous spectrum of Primary Channels (PCs) and Secondary Channels (SCs). The performance metrics of blocking probability, dropping probability, throughput and availability are evaluated for a CR node linked with another node located in various positions in the MCRA with the aid of a novel structured 3-D Markov-chain model with continuous time parameters, which also makes our model extendable and programmable for an arbitrary number of PCs and SCs. In addition, we obtain the performance metric of the throughput of a potential routing in CRAHNs. Extensive numerical results verify the validity of the proposed model and analysis method.
