Abstract
Polarimetric calibration is performed by applying distortion matrices acting on transmit and receive. Two different approaches to determine these distortion matrices are compared to each other, a statistical one, and an approach that uses radar reflectors. The effect of polarimetric calibration is demonstrated by means of two examples pertaining to polarimetric detection, and to feature based target recognition.
