Abstract :
Among commercially available cathodes, LaB6 seems to be the only one whose dimensions are changing considerably during its lifetime. Changing cathode geometry affects near-cathode field, emission current density, and, ultimately, its brightness. We report modeling results for the LaB6-based gun major parameters dependence on cathode changes during its lifetime
