Abstract
An approach for the detailed modeling and simulation of magnetic components, such as inductors or transformers, is presented. The modeling technique has been designed to include low frequency saturation and thermal effects, inter-winding capacitances, leakage inductances (frequency dependent) and also the effects of eddy currents. This paper describes the process in general, demonstrates how the simulation software can be used to automate the process and examples are presented of the different levels of model and their various detailed characteristics
