Abstract :
The paper presents the effect caused by the presence of target echoes in the reference channel of bi- or multistatic noise or pseudo-noise radar. Most of the paper on multistatic radars assume that the reference signal is ideal one. In the case, when reference signal is received by directional reference antenna, it can be contaminated by echo signals originated from stationary target like ground clutter and also from moving targets in the vicinity of transmitter or receiver. The presence of the echo signals in the reference paths leads to the generation of false targets.
