Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. An important aspect of MMACE is the ability to integrate diverse simulation tools within the MMACE environment. MRC is developing a resource, the Source Book, which addresses this issue. The Source Book is an on-line document containing step-by-step instructions for integrating an application within the MMACE environment. It describes the framework and provides workbook material, examples, and templates. As a principal example, the Source Book describes the integration of the Collector Tool, which thus serves as the pilot application around which the examples and exercises are built. The Collector Tool is a set of independent applications used to characterize and analyze exit beam distributions from microwave devices. It includes both parametric collector applications and a three-dimensional PIC simulation collector tool. The parametric applications have the ability both to predict energy recovery in idealized multistage collectors and to predict optimum voltages for the stages. The three-dimensional PIC simulation tool will treat the geometric dependencies of actual collector configurations. The Source Book and Collector Tool documentation are built using HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language), which provides access via the Internet using World Wide Web browsers such as Mosaic.
