Abstract :
EMC test measurements will be greatly enhanced by utilizing component software on a distributed computer network. Component software allows the user to assemble the desired features and capabilities by combining inexpensive tools such as word processors, databases and report writers, with expensive specialized modules for controlling test equipment. Groupware, software that encourages cooperative creation of reports by a group of individuals will be extended to the EMC test lab. This will allow greater access to test equipment and increased efficiency in planning, executing and reporting EMC measurements. An example is included describing a six computer Windows NT network combining Microsoft Office with specialized EMC tools to automate an EMC test lab
