Abstract :
Tungsten/Rhenium alloy wire is the most common material used to produce heaters for dispenser cathodes. Performance variation may be attributable to a range of factors, including cold work and rhenium content variation. This paper investigates these two areas by analysis of resistance vs. temperature for a range of wire diameters and alloy concentrations. In addition, tensile testing of wire samples is investigated for comparison. Data is presented and discussed
