Abstract
Advanced models of the induction machine including the iron losses are needed for energy efficient control strategies or motor parameter adaptation procedures in field oriented control. In the paper a novel identification method, preferably for offline application, is described which works inside the field oriented control scheme with no special need to exclude the friction losses from the measuring values
