  • Abstract
The paper presents an operations scheduling intelligent system (OSIS) that deals with constraint handling decision in manufacturing operations, providing various optimization techniques and their application to production scheduling. It is purposed to define the optimal sequence of the various operations in a flow shop, considering machines and tools available. The companies require greater control of their operations, increased customer service while reducing costs. The paper presents also the strategy of control integrated within a decision tree for developing the planning intelligent system. The system is developed with a friendly graphical user interface that guides the user during the progress of the planner, providing warnings and suggestions for adjusting in real time the planner.
