Abstract
This paper presents a back-up power supply for residential applications. The proposed converter topology integrates battery charge/discharge functions and provides a controlled output voltage. The proposed circuit topology is analyzed and designed. A design example of a 300 W back-up power supply is given. A prototype converter is built and the experimental results show an overall rated efficiency of about 88% or greater in normal and backup modes
