  • Abstract
"LCA (life cycle assessment)", which can assess the environmental aspect and potential impact associated with a product "from the cradle to the grave" synthetically, has become noteworthy. The software "MieLCA", which can be operated easily on a personal computer to conduct LCA-NETS (Numerical Eco-Load Total Standardization) was composed by employing the LCA method "ESS" (Eco-Load Standardization System). The assessment of various types of industrial products can be performed by applying "MieLCA". On the other hand, the vending machine has just as much to do with the environment as other industrial products. In addition to conducting such an assessment, the ecological improvement was performed by taking account of the concept of reuse etc. As a case study, the evaluation of environmental performance of a vending machine is discussed
