Abstract
The development and industrialization of green rechargeable battery for electric vehicle use, not only requires lowest cost, but also possesses good characteristic of hi-rate charge and discharge. In this paper, a new type plate material-nickel plating punched steel (NPPS) with burrs was developed and put into actual application. It is proven that this new plate material, which is superior to normally commercial materials, not only can fill the active substance 5 times the amount than normal material, but also can adhere to the active substance very well. Moreover, its cost is only 1/15 of the commercial nickel foam, 2/3 of the normal punched steel. Especially, its performance of the high-rate charge and discharge over 3C is the best of all. The new type plate material is being used in Ni-MH, and Ni-Zn battery manufacture
