Abstract
The paper presents a technical and economic comparison between wireless and cabled systems for the delivery of wideband services. The cabled solution is based on high bit rate transmission techniques using the existing copper pair cables. The wireless solution is based on cellular systems in the 40 GHz band. The economic comparison is performed by means of a simulation tool which allows us to obtain the main economic indicators in a ten year study period; such results are presented and discussed
