Abstract
The emergence and advancement in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), initiated a promising revolution to healthcare. Healthcare Organizations are willing to coordinate and collaborate regarding patient information for better and in time services because health is a critical issue and require urgent focus. In this paper, a case study in Sweden is conducted including interviews and survey. From the study, we have learned that in some regions, healthcare is decentralized and heterogeneous in nature. Due to lack of standards implementation, a syntactic interoperability is a better solution. For such kind of environment, a peer-to-peer communication approach is suggested.
