Abstract
A 2-D cavity with reinforced concrete walls is analyzed using a generalized surface integral equation method developed from Huygens´ principle. In the method, a multi-scale system is divided into small blocks. The detail structure of each block may be analyzed independently and its electromagnetic characteristics can be expressed by using a generalized transition matrix defined on the reference surface of that block. A generalized surface integral equation formulation may be established on all the reference surfaces, which can be solved efficiently by using characteristic basis functions.
