Abstract :
This paper considers call and burst blocking in a broadband network with on and off sources. We assume that during their off periods calls release their bandwidths which may be assigned to the other on calls. A new call is accepted to the system only if the burst blocking probabilities remain acceptable. It is shown that the product-form solution still applies and a multidimensional recursion has been derived to calculate the joint link occupancy distribution
