Abstract :
Indian electricity network is going through reformations for increasing efficiency, power quality and reliability of power system. Apart from unbundling, there is a need for integrating Distributed Generation (DG) to power system network for producing green power and to bridge the gap between supply and demand. In this paper, different technologies for DG, their installation cost comparison with conventional power generation technologies and few power quality issues that may arise with its integration to existing distribution network are discussed.
