  • Abstract
    Due to an increasing trend of mobile multimedia services, consideration of power is crucial since portable devices have limited battery power. In this paper we have proposed a power adaptive decoding scheme which use of scalable video codec as a complexity scalable decoder. The proposed decoding scheme has a novel ability to either decode all layers or a few layers depending on the available computation ability of hardware platform according to power management mode. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme is able to decode video in power-aware manner.
