CMOS-Change Management Of Software. ESSI PIE nr. 23661

CMOS is an ESSI PIE (Process Improvement Experiment) performed by Euroelettra, a producer of software systems for industrial process automation, mostly in the ceramic sector. The purpose of CMOS is to experiment with a software change management (SCM) process for managing many tailored versions of our products. This process is characterised as follows: (a) it makes the product status visible at all times; (b) it ensures the tracing of our products; (c) it ensures the alignment between the customer´s version and the one archived in-house; and (d) it is integrated within our quality management system. The industrial automation sector is a wide and strategic one. Our experience could raise considerable interest among software producers in this sector, because of the importance of the issues tied to change management.
