  • Abstract
Mathematical modelling dt switching rect??atcrs. tsve led to a good understanding of their working mechanisms. A new generation of energy transfer regulators has been developed based on the principle of charge controlled conversion. This principle is described and illustrated on a particular application: the MC2 (charge controlled modulator) in a boost configuration. It is shown that such a principle allows to combine brilliant dynamic performances, stress condition protections and high power regulation. A linear continuous mathematical model of the MC2 is detailed to support the bread board performances. These are performed bt using an automatic computer facility (APSEF) allowing fast and accurate measurments. It is finally shown that such a principle is a unique way to reach high power level (1 KW per module) in a reliable modular configuration.
