Abstract

A successful conversion strategy for the Year 2000 problem should include an effective testing strategy that involves the use of automated tools. The paper first identifies the testing problems for the Year 2000 challenges and then presents a test tool classification based on the key stages of the test process. Commercial lest tools for the Year 2000 challenge are then reviewed. It is identified that the problem of synchronized testing is not assisted by any of the surveyed test tools. Also, the test planning, test case design, and test result analysis stages of the test process are in need of more test tools
