Abstract
Beside the statistical evaluation of measurements on physiological processes there is an increasing need for theoretical system description, for documentation of the connections between cause and effect, and for the quantitative determination of these processes. The first part of the paper is a mathematical summary of compartment analysis. The second part deals with computer aided simulation. The third part introduces a new identification method. Examples are given representations of practical application
