Abstract :
Discusses results of a multi-year research project to optimize software and systems test quality throughout Motorola. Our approach is to apply process modeling and simulation technologies to evaluate process improvement, automation and defect prevention strategies. Part of our approach is to conduct experiments using process modeling and simulation technologies to evaluate and characterize technological changes meant to improve quality, reliability, efficiency or schedule. We focus on defect prevention specifically, and process and automation strategies that would result in preventing defects
