Abstract
Frequency conversion utilizing the Doppler effect in a slot line (finline) with an optically excited silicon substrate has been investigated. The slot-line frequency converter with a silicon substrate has been designed and fabricated. Basic transmission properties of the slot line illuminated by a 532 nm Nd:YAG laser beam have been measured using a finline structure at W-band. The experimental results have shown that the laser pulses with energy of 1 muJ can control transmission of millimeter waves in the slot line.
