Abstract :
This paper discusses the design and development aspects associated with hardware and software of a Web accessible online real time low-voltage switchgear arcing fault early warning system based on NI C series I/O Modules and NI cRIO-9004 controller. Based on the higher-order harmonic differential approach, the switchgear arcing fault early warning system was implemented. The NI cRIO-9004 controller with IP addressable and remote access capabilities provides options for comprehensive fault recording and diagnostic capabilities. Dedicated test-bench was established in the laboratory environment to validate the algorithm and test the performance of this newly developed system.
